The verdict

Go for the music, treat the food as a decent bonus. It is a small, warm room with a grand piano, and the schedule fits our dates: Monday and Tuesday are cheap, Thursday is the stronger lineup. Book a table by phone and order food, since that is the only way to reserve. Skip it Wednesday, when it is closed.

  • Shows listed for Mon Oct 12, Tue Oct 13 and Thu Oct 15 on the official calendar
  • Cheap covers on Mon ($12) and Tue ($15 big band, $8 late set)
  • Small room, grand piano, kitchen open for dinner

How much we'll spend

$$$$Est. $40-90 / person

Cover $8-35 depending on night, tapas $17-28, mains $24-36 (beef rib $59) on official menu; drink prices not found, so this is a rough estimate.

Our estimate from posted prices, CAD, before tax and tip. Québec purchases carry the 5% federal GST plus the 9.975% Québec Sales Tax (QST, TVQ in French): 14.975% combined on taxable items. Tourisme Montréal: it is customary to tip restaurant servers, taxi drivers and hairdressers 15% of the bill, before taxes. Bellhops, porters and doormen generally get at least $2 per bag or service; coffee and food counters often have a tip cup by the register.
