The verdict

Go for the ritual, not for the decor or a refined meal. Order a regular to share rather than a large, and pick something loaded like the T-Rex or Fred Caillou. The room seats about 80, and Tastet notes both locals and tourists queue, so go off-peak if you can. It's reliable fuel, the sort of place you go once.

  • No. 1 late-night eats in Cult MTL's 2026 readers poll
  • Open 24h per official site, including public holidays except Christmas
  • 30-odd poutines

How much we'll spend

$$$$Est. $15-25 / person

Regular poutines $9.99-19.25 and large $15.25-31.50 on the official menu (before tax); burger trios $13.75-23.50. Drink prices not read, so the range covers a regular to large poutine and is approximate.

Our estimate from posted prices, CAD, before tax and tip. Québec purchases carry the 5% federal GST plus the 9.975% Québec Sales Tax (QST, TVQ in French): 14.975% combined on taxable items. Tourisme Montréal: it is customary to tip restaurant servers, taxi drivers and hairdressers 15% of the bill, before taxes. Bellhops, porters and doormen generally get at least $2 per bag or service; coffee and food counters often have a tip cup by the register.
