The verdict

Worth an easy hour or two as a connector between Old Montréal stops, not a destination on its own. Go late afternoon so you catch the Fall Fair open at noon on Thanksgiving Monday and the light over the river. Skip paying for anything unless the weather is dry: the fair closes in rain. Verify the Grande Roue hours and price before building a plan around it.

  • Free open-air access 6am-midnight daily
  • Fall Fair open Oct 12 noon-9pm
  • Pairs with Old Montréal wandering

Why maybeFree and flexible, but the key paid attractions (wheel, Clock Tower) have unconfirmed Oct hours and the fair closes in rain.

What it costs

$$$$Est. $0 / person

Site and promenade access is free per official Fall Fair page; rides, games, wheel and cruises are paid extras (Fall Fair wristband $40, 24 coupons $37). Wheel price not found.

Our estimate from posted prices, CAD, before tax and tip. Québec purchases carry the 5% federal GST plus the 9.975% Québec Sales Tax (QST, TVQ in French): 14.975% combined on taxable items. Tourisme Montréal: it is customary to tip restaurant servers, taxi drivers and hairdressers 15% of the bill, before taxes. Bellhops, porters and doormen generally get at least $2 per bag or service; coffee and food counters often have a tip cup by the register.
