The verdict
Go if the weather is dry and you want autumn colour without the crowds at Mont-Royal's lookouts. It is free, open on Thanksgiving Monday, and the old trees are the point. Go earlier in the day and leave by 4:30 to clear the 5pm gates. It is a cemetery, so keep the pace slow and the manners good.
- Free entry
- Open on holidays per official schedule
- Named for fall colours by Tourisme Montréal
- Founded 1852, one of North America's oldest rural cemeteries (mtl.org)
